culturedperson.com is a publication. It exists to be read, not to harvest data, and it is built to collect as little about you as possible. This page explains, plainly, what that means in practice.
What we do not do
We run no analytics, set no advertising or tracking pixels, and place no cookies of our own. We do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell, rent, or share personal data with anyone for marketing.
Hosting and Cloudflare
The site is served through Cloudflare, which acts as our content-delivery network and security proxy. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare necessarily processes your IP address and connection metadata — request headers, approximate location, timestamps, and security signals — and may retain this through its logging and observability features. Cloudflare may also set strictly-necessary security cookies (for example, bot management) to keep the site available; these are not used to track you across other sites. Cloudflare's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy, published on its website.
Server logs
Standard access logs may record your IP address, browser user-agent, the pages requested, and timestamps. These are used only to operate the site reliably and to defend it against abuse, and are kept no longer than needed for those purposes.
If you email us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to put in your message, and we keep them so we can reply and maintain a record of the correspondence. We do not use them for anything else.
Advertising
We do not currently serve advertising. We may introduce it in the future. If we do, this notice will be updated before any new data processing begins, and any advertising or measurement that involves cookies or tracking will be described here first.
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete the limited personal data described above, or to object to its processing. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond.
Children
This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may revise this notice as the site evolves. Material changes — especially any that introduce new data processing, such as advertising — will be reflected here, with the date above updated.
